And if I recall correctly (I can check again later), the player continued to track / count the time on the track, as if it thought it were still playing at the time. In both cases, the stop was about 3-4 minutes into a 6-8 minute track. Playback apparently just stops in the middle of a track - not close to the end. As I said, I didn't really go much further with testing given the loud pops I was getting when the music stopped but I could do a bit more listening now that I know someone cares LOL Most of my files are ALAC, and the ones where I had a problem were both ALAC 24/192. Nice idea to monitor the rollout of your new product with a targeted user group Include your system configuration for faster resolution. For anyone having playback issues, please provide your feedback to us through. Does the issue occur randomly throughout a track or within the last ~10 seconds of a track? Please provide an idea of the track duration and about when in the track did the playback stop. Does this playback stopping only happen with ALAC files? Do other file types have any issue with playback? We have not had any reports of this during our testing and are anxious to provide a resolution. Thanks for your feedback and we're very interested in understanding the playback issue further.
Amarra hi fi plus#
On the plus side, it does sound pretty darned good. Well, I just had something happen, not a "pop" but it did completey stop playing for a few seconds right in the middle of a track, perhaps the pop noise is your DAC losing lock while the software stops playing.ģ) the odd stopping of playback when there has never been any before. Whether that's the same with Amarra, I can't say! I got to say though that Fidelia's customer service is the best I've experienced in relation to software. So with Amarra HiFi in my quiver, I'm spoiled for choice. I don't use the EQ day to day but it is handy for parties when the volume is being pushed, using the EQ is there to pull some LF out and round off the HF. One thing I did fiddle with in Amarra (not that there is a lot to fiddle with!), for the life of me I couldn't get the EQ to work. However I don't have Fidelia Advanced so I'd be interested in comments from those that do, in comparison to Amarra HiFi.Īs far as other features, I don't go there as I just want a basic Player. However Amarra (with HiFi player) have truned the price aspect into a non-issue and the interface is basically foolproof leaving Fidelia appearing slightly clunky.įidelia is a slightly rounded off and sweeter with Amarra being slightly more forward and, I guess, accurate.īoth bring the music through so no loss of PRaT. Sound wise Fidelia and Amarra were on a par.but with minor differences. The others were too costly and interfaces glitchy. Having been lucky to be online at the right time and take advantage of the excellent promotion Amarra was offering, I have been putting Amarra HiFi up against my go-to player Fidelia.Ī couple of years ago when I was testing the various codec options, Fidelia ticked the boxes mainly due to price and interface.
